That is one of the cutest ideas I have seen! Even my horribly anti-crafty abilities couldn't screw that up.
I loved that part of the Christmas season, each day opening a new window of our advent calendar and eating the chocolate inside. I was thinking of this memory the other day and I love this little DIY advent calendar, so clever.
