Birthday scenes

Museums, memorials, and mmmmmmmm's ... the makings of a great birthday! Some scenes from our gorgeous afternoon out and about yesterday (taken on my brand-new camera from T!):

T made a fantastic dinner last night while I putzed around with a chilled cucumber soup I've been trying to perfect (recipe coming when I think I finally have it right). Dinner was prepared on this awesome toy - a birthday gift from my parents!

Up tonight: Taste of the Nation! Wonder if there will be any Top Chef DC action there?

  1. I'm just so happy for you in D.C.- it just seems like such a fabulous fit. 2 things- thanks for your sweet comment, it made me feel much better about my uber-cheesy extremely amateur entry. Second, my mom is working on the spoon prototype. She is doing 3 individual um, vases, for a lack of better descriptive word which nestle together in a tray. That way it's like one piece, but you have more versatility for other uses. I'll keep you updated! Happy birthday week!

  2. Happy (belated) birthday, Love!!! LOVE the pictures around DC! I need to find out more information on this camera situation as I am in the market for a new camera as well!!

P.S. A little birdie told me that there may be some cherry blossoms where you live. One picture is not nearly enough. I'm thinking I need to see some pics of Maggie frolicking in a sea of cherry blossom trees. Just saying.

  4. (a) Still bummed that I forgot your birthday :(

    (b) But again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

    (c) Jealous of your grill... ours is identical but the cover is a lame hunter green instead of a hot-matches-my-other-appliances red! So fun!
