My mom's yard and garden in NC are gorgeous right now. Had I been focused on much besides the family's
new addition, I would have spent hours out there snapping photos. I was worried that when I got back to DC my rather neglected garden would shame me. But surprise, surprise - things are looking pretty good!
The key to my heart, though - as you well know - are the dahlias. The dahlias! They're amazing me right now. Take a look at the red that's moved into the dahlias I've been calling Pretty In Peach. I could stare at them all day. Prepare yourself for some floral gratuitousness.

ReplyDeleteI think the cut flower picture might be my favorite because of the peach/dark red juxtaposition. So does this love of flowers mean that you'd go to Dumbarton Oaks with me if I came to DC in the summer? I've always wanted to go there, but never quite made it.

ReplyDeleteI love dahlia's! There's a whole dahlia garden here (SF) in Golden Gate Park and I spent an hour there last weekend taking pictures - there's so many different shapes and colors! Love.
